Support the IMDb daily poll

While sharing polls is the main goal of this page, we also encourage campaigns to support an unlikely but very much wished return of the IMDb daily poll.

A couple of  months ago the IMDb administration decided to close the Help board and they replaced it with a community at a page called getsatisfaction.com, this is important because users can visit that page to discuss changes in the page and make suggestions. Dan Dassow, frequent user of the daily poll board took the initiative to suggest the reconstitution of the daily poll, and everyone can support the idea with just one click at  https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/reconstitute_the_imdb_poll

IMDb staff are supposed to be monitoring that page and they have claimed that they would work on popular ideas, today the reconstitution of the daily poll is the fifth more popular suggestion, and all the other more popular ideas are labelled as being under consideration. Maybe if we manage a little more votes we can get the reconstitution of the daily poll under their consideration.

Supporting the idea is quite easy since you don't even need to get a getsatisfaction account. If you have a Blogger, Gmail, Google+ or YouTube account you can use that information to log in and click on the button saying you support the idea, so if you have a minute and miss the daily poll we encourage you to visit the suggestion at https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/reconstitute_the_imdb_poll and support it with your vote.

Yes, the IMDb has proved they can ignore a big group of complaints, they already did it with the over 300 users that signed a petition to bring the poll back at http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000088/flat/197974992, but it's worth a try, at least they'll be remembered that after more tan a year without the poll many people still miss it and want it back.

Despite the vote record and his status as the first captain from this loved series Captain Christopher Pike (Jeffrey Hunter) the original Captain from the pilot episode of 1966 got 0 votes.

Two aditional facts, if you add the votes of the classic Kirk and the young Kirk, then he and Jean-Luc Picard would have tied on the first place.

This poll managed to collect over 1% of the votes given to the last IMDb homepage poll, not bad considering our limited ways of promotion, remember to support the return of the IMDb daily poll at the links on the right side of this page, and to send your suggestions for future polls.

Testing

This is on a testing period. The idea is to post a poll each couple of days and to leave it open for around a week.

There seem's to be a problem with the vote counting as some votes dissapeared from one day to the other. I supposse this is an temporary issue to the widget that should be fixed soon, I have wrote to the Blogger administration about it, I'll start posting regular polls once it is fixed.
